Whole Foods Market Blossom Hill (San Jose, CA) Opens Today

Whole Foods Market opens the doors at its newest store in San Jose today at 10:00am - Whole Foods Market Blossom Hill. The store is at 1146 Blossom Hill Road.  Thanks to my good friend Cristina, I was able to get a behind-the-scenes VIP tour of the store before it opened. Thank you C!!

Apart from the fact that the store is flat out gorgeous - it's also energy efficient and environmentally friendly with much of its decor made from reclaimed wood, recycled glass, and recycled paper. A UTC Power fuel cell produces the electricity, heat and water through an electrochemical process and will generate 90 percent of the store's electricity needs.

Whole Foods has long been known as a health-conscious grocery store offering a wide selection of organic, sustainable, all natural and hormone free foods. I think you'll find this store to be the perfect ratio of gourmet/specialty items to budget-friendly quality items - in other words, there's something for everyone.

  1. Love Whole Foods! Ours in SA is smallish, but the flagship/HQ one is in Austin...it's worth the drive up for me every so often just because it's HUGE and amazing!! Glad you got a sneak peek! Come by my blog when you get a chance, Veronica...I'm having a POM giveaway...

  5. From the outside and the inside it looks like a gorgeous store. Also looks like San Jose had a good storm that day judging by the clouds over Almaden in your third shot. And your pictures are phenomenal! Great job!

Now I really miss San Jose!

  6. The visual size of your images is one of the best I have seen for presentation for a blog. Well-done. A suppose it is effective with so little text.

California and the US certainly has a wider variety of stores than we do here in BC. I find this especially when I visit my brother and family in Arizona.

I am always looking for Google/Blogger reciprocal followers if this interests. Thanks.

  8. Hi Veronica - I am soooooo envious - we don't have Whole Foods here in New Zealand. I could just get lost for hours in a store like that. Hope you enjoyed FoodBuzz Fest last weekend - totally envious of that too. All in all, you could say I'm as green as your blog :-)

  9. Hi.

I love the store and went since the opening every day. You have a good product selection.

I also tried the Kale chips. They are delicious! The bulk section is awesome. But I couldn't find Garbanzo Flour from Bob Red Mill :( I used to buy it at Campbell location before

The down side: the BBQ at the entrance. I have to enter the store through the side door to avoid the smell of the meat. Not suitable for vegetarians!!!
